STILLNESS IN MOVEMENT

The heights of the spirit can only be climbed by passing through the portals of humility. You can only acquire right knowledge when you have learnt to esteem it. Man has certainly the right to turn his eyes to the light, but he must first acquire this right.
– Rudolf Steiner

A Holistic Pedagogical Program for Body, Soul & Mind (For Children and Adults)

We constantly face challenges from the world, especially with the ever-advancing lifestyle changes. We are unable to equip skills to cope with the world, as modern technology evolves and the pace of life increases. The impact of modern technology is seen especially on children in the current era. We come across many children with special needs such as ADHD, autism, sensory integration disorders, attention disorder, learning difficulties etc. In all these developmental disorders, we see that the senses are bombarded and their will forces are impaired. Audrey E. McAllen has given the children of the present and the future generation an invaluable gift in the form of her book, ‘The Extra Lesson’. She is known for her lifelong work of developing methods to help children with learning difficulties.

After completing all the modules and fulfilling the essential criteria, participants would receive a Certificate from the National Association, Ameyaa. The course has been designed especially to address such children, that involves education of parents, infants and the child. It consists of three major modules:

Early Intervention

The focus age is 0 to 6 years. The child’s primary functional area such as gross motor, fine motor, emotions, speech, social and cognitive functions are observed and assessed. The problem areas are identified, the parents are trained to bring changes in the environment at home and to cope with the challenges in the child’s upbringing.

School Readiness

In this module, the child is assessed to evaluate the readiness for formal education. Parental and teacher counselling, development of children form the basis of this module.

Children with Difficulties

The focus age is beyond 6 years. A child is assessed for body geography, posture, reflexes, spatial orientation, cognitive skills, language and math skills. Based on the profile of the child, it is figured as to how to arrive at the relevant intervention strategies. Major training will involve the methods of implementation of such strategies.
